There’s an AGA for every cook and every kitchen, so it is important that you choose the cooker that is best suited for your lifestyle.

AGA understands that life is changing, and you need your kitchen to work harder for you than ever before. That’s why there are two types of AGA cookers you can choose. Both cook using radiant heat, however, R Series models (24/7 Radiant Heat) are designed to always be on and ready to cook whereas eR Series models (Everyday Radiant Heat) offer greater flexibility and can be switched on and off as required.

Frequently asked questions

AGA offers a range of quality stoves for the solid fuel, wood, gas and electric markets.

The solid fuel and wood appliances vary in style and performance, offering both traditional and contemporary styles, with heat outputs ranging from 4 – 9kW, so that the majority of room sizes and decor styles are catered for.

Our gas appliances are sleek and modern in design with the convenience of full remote control and on/off functionality for ease of use. With the ability to control heat output thermostatically or manually, the gas appliances are an ideal choice for busy lifestyles providing a rapid response, an attractive flame picture and effective heat generation.

Our electrical appliances offer modern design combined with a flame pattern realistically projected from an array of LED lighting features. With a 1.9 or 1.5Kw heater, depending on model, they are the ideal visual focal point and ‘top up heater’. Again, full remote control and thermostatic heat control combine in these appliances which are ideal for situations where there is no chimney and you do not want the cost of installing a system.

We would recommend discussing your requirements with your local AGA Stoves retailer if you require further guidance.

The size of the stove you need is affected by a number a factors including the size of the room, the size of windows in the room, the number of windows and the general level of insulation.

For an approximate required heat output, multiply the room width, height and length together and multiply the result by 0.606. The result is an approximation of the kW required for the room.

We would always advise that further guidance should be taken from your retailer who will be able to confirm the requirements and provide a home survey if necessary.

height space and are 200mm in diameter.

All solid fuel and wood burning stoves require a chimney and we also advise that the chimney should always be fitted with an internal liner, in order to ensure that the flue system is sealed from the appliance to the point at which it exits the building. This is so that no leakage of combustion products can occur, as well as ensuring that the chimney has a good ‘draw’ in order to facilitate satisfactory combustion of the fuel and to achieve the best results possible from your chosen stove. This is especially important in older properties where the existing flue will in all probability have deteriorated in condition.

Our gas fired products are designed to work with a balanced flue pipework system which, as it offers greater flexibility on installation, may be an advantage if you do not have a suitable chimney for a solid fuel appliance.

Our electric appliances are ideal for any room with or without a chimney as they do not require one. You can take these products home with you, plug into a 13amp power point and enjoy the ambience created immediately.

We would advise that you consult with your Aga Stove retailer or installer before finalising any purchase decision

Solid fuel appliances should be installed by a HETAS approved engineer. The installation of a solid fuel appliance is covered by building regulations and as such, upon completion of the work the installation has to be signed off and registered. Your HETAS approved installer can complete this paperwork as part of the commissioning process. This compulsory procedure ensures that the installation complies with building regulations, safety requirements and the manufacturer’s installation/operation instructions.

Installation of a gas stove must be carried out by, and commissioned by an engineer qualified under the Gas Safe registration scheme. This is a legal requirement for all gas work.

Electric stoves require no specific installation, merely plug in to enjoy.

Your Aga Stoves retailer will be able to advise you on engineers who are qualified to install the stove of your choice.

Multi-fuel and Woodburning stoves carry a 5 year warranty, the first year of which covers parts and labour and the remaining 4 years parts only. This excludes some consumable items such as bottom bars and glass, which can be damaged by use of inappropriate fuels or misuse.

Our gas and electric products carry a 5 year warranty on the stove body and a 2 year warranty on the functional gas and electric components. Again, the first year covers parts and labour and the second year parts only.

All warranties are subject to the correct installation of the appliances and may be affected where the full installation requirements have not been complied with.
